NLC Proctor Training Proctor Judged Events 2.1 Proctor Role

As BPA Contest Proctor you will ensure the smooth and fair administration of competitive events by supervising the contest environment, distributing and collecting materials, managing event timing, and providing rule clarifications. Proctors maintain the integrity of the competition by monitoring for any signs of cheating or rule violations and reporting incidents to the administrator. Overall, your role is crucial in creating an organized and fair setting, allowing competitors to focus on showcasing their skills and knowledge. Please report to the contest site at least 30 minutes prior to the start of the contest for orientation and to assist in setup. Your administrator will meet you there with the contest box. There will be a check-in table outside the contest room where you will sit. The administrator contest box will have everything you need to successfully run the event. However, if there are materials or supplies missing, please send someone immediately to HQ to get them. Administrators will be given a list of the competitors, their scheduled reporting times, and sign-in sheet.
