Preparing Your Chapter in the MRS for the New Membership Year

Welcome back to another exciting year with Business Professionals of America! For those chapters that were active last year, you will need to complete the “Graduate and Rollforward Process” in the Membership Registration System (MRS) prior to enrolling members for the current membership year. The process is relatively simple; all you need to do is follow the on-screen instructions after you initially log in to the MRS this year.

If you would like to view step-by-step instructions in order to complete the “Graduate and Rollforward Process”, please download the updated MRS Chapter Advisor User Manual. The process is outlined beginning on page 30 of the document. The user manual also outlines all of the other functionality of the Membership Registration System, including the different ways to register members, how to maintain advisor profiles, chapter reporting features, invoicing, and much more.

There are also helpful video tutorials that can be found at our Help Center. These include how to rollover members to the new membership year, as well as quick guidance on subjects ranging from how to request a student name change, editing or deleting student members, printing membership cards, and more.

If you need assistance with preparing your chapter for the new membership year, or for guidance on maintaining membership in the Membership Registration System, please contact us at support@bpa.org.

National Membership Dues Assistance Program

We at BPA understand that many people have been impacted by economic disruption over the past few years and as a result, our students may be faced with the decision of having to choose between BPA and other opportunities. National BPA is launching a campaign in partnership with the National BPA Alumni Division and our industry partners, AICPA, Stukent, Neil Enterprises, Barefoot, and Wizard Pins, to raise financial support and sponsor National membership dues for students with financial need. Please be sure to review all criteria to ensure student eligibility prior to completing and submitting the online form*.

Students who receive financial assistance through this program will be encouraged to participate in at least one of the following National BPA Student Member Leadership Programs and affirm that they intend to do so:

  • BPA Student Certification Series (Level 1 and/or 2)
  • Torch Awards Program
  • BPA Cares Program
  • BPA Leads

Advisors can learn more about the National Membership Dues Assistance Program and nominate a student in the Advisors section of the BPA Gateway at: https://members.bpa.org.

(*student is responsible for state association and chapter dues if applicable)

NTHS Scholarships Available

Since 2005, the National Technical Honor Society (NTHS) has awarded over $2 million in scholarships! It is our belief that CTE students must be supported and encouraged to seek continued education and training in today’s highly competitive global community. NTHS has partnered with many CTSO and Industry Partners in a national effort to recognize achievement and provide additional scholarship opportunities to our members.

The National Technical Honor Society is honored to partner with Business Professionals of America to promote its mission and provide three scholarships to active BPA members who are also current NTHS members in good standing. Eligible applicants must be a dues-paying member of both organizations, and further requirements and criteria are decided by BPA.

Whether your students are virtual, in class, or participating in a hybrid program this year the Stukent Social Media Marketing Challenge is a great opportunity for them to test their real-world knowledge and have a chance at winning financial awards.

Stay tuned for more more information through social media, email and in the next edition of The Source when registration opens and the link to get started!

Participants can register any time within the challenge dates, but must finish the simulation rounds no later than October 31st. Three winners will be awarded Cash Prizes and walk across the stage in Dallas, TX at the National Honor Awards Ceremony during the 2022 National Leadership Conference.
